Well . . . it was trial and error really (which is made easier by having some experience sewing little things here and there). The ottoman I just cut a big piece of fabric, turned her upside-down, and used a staple gun. But the rest, I took off each cushion and laid it out on the fabric and cut it about 1/2-1 inch bigger . . . depending on how I planned to get the cushions inside of the new covers. On the undersides of each cushion, I left a big slit to fit the cushions in and out . . . then I just turned under the sides of the slits and stitched them so they wouldn't fray. I don't know if this helps AT ALL.
